I am so impressed with this product. I was so close to buying the $50 one that apple sells but found this one on sale for $16 and was hesitant with such a cheap price but I am pleasantly surprised. First off, I am awful when it comes to home improvement. But, I was able to install this myself and if I can do it, ANYONE can. The instructions were very simple and clear, and personally I only needed a flat head, some needle nose pliers, a pencil, an drill and about 20 minutes and that was me moving very slowly and methodically. Came with stickers so you can label each wire so there’s no confusion and once it was installed, the app worked seamlessly and immediately paired with my apple home. Great quality but be aware that the switch is significantly bigger than your average switch and we had to drill new holes because the screws did not line up with the originally light switch. I can’t say enough great things about this switch. It turned my ceiling fan into a “smart fan” and beyond worth $16

Exactly what I was hoping for. Switches lights on and off remotely without issue. Very easy install as well. Plus you can add complimentary products such as a smart switch all under the same app. Plus the price is right.

I LOVE this light switch/timer! I had a 5yo one (different brand) that I could no longer get to work for my porch lights, and it was driving me crazy. This one installed easily and I programmed it from my phone on the app in less than a minute. Buy it!!

Install was as expected with any other electrical switch. I even did it with gloves without turning off the electricity and it went fine.I love and use the Kasa app and have 4 plugs I used for fans in the garage and all is good there, but I went through the “Kasa add devide’ install, and the last question was “Do you want to add to your network and add to (apple) Home” ? If you say ‘no’, it halts the install. If I said yes, it added the device to Apple Home, but not to Kasa. I even deleted Apple Home from my iphone – that didn’t help.So I’m now controlling this via apple Home and it auto turns on/off according to sunset/sunrise.It’s functioning perfectly, but it’s unfortunate I can’t use the Kasa App to do so.

My hallway overhead fluorescent tube fixture was converted to LED tubes. This switch is able to control it just fine. Biggest complaint is that each companies switches (GE, Kasa etc) only work with their own Android app. Not a problem with after initial set up with Alexa though.

My home has switches and dimmers from various vendors. These have by far been the easiest and most reliable to install. Connects to HomeKit on the first try every time. I also love how the LED can be shut off in the Kasa app, unlike my Weemo dimmers that have an obnoxiously bright LED that can’t be shut off. Any switches I have fail in future will be replaced by Kasa ones.

When it worked it worked as expected. Had zero issues with it until about the 6th (almost 7th) month. Light circle kept flashing one/off red/orange, not a slow flash when you first connect it. Tried to reset it restart it, turn off the circuit breaker with no success. I had an extra one and installed. I don’t expect any issues but it was cheap and I can forgive one but not 2 failing on me. Will update again if I see issues with the 2nd one.Update: 07/20/2024Junk. What is with these things? I Installed a 2nd one 6 months ago and guess what? failed 6 months later. i don’t like giving negative reviews but 2 in 12 months for the same circuit is unacceptable. since it’s well past the purchase date, can’t get a refund. going in the garbage can. will be looking at another brand.Update: 08/27/2024Why hasn’t TP-Link addressed the large failure rate of these switches? They are rated highly for ease of use but one of the reviewer earlier said “4 of 9 switches failed.” That’s a 44% failure rate. My 2 of 2 is a 100% failure rate. The one thing that i did like about them is that they are not as deep as others that i’ve found. But the failure rate just doesn’t justify another purchase.

Works great with the Apple HomeKit. Took a little time to hook up to the HomeKit but not to bad. Quality of the product seems good and the price was decent.

it’s a relatively small device behind the switch, so there is no struggle to fit it and all the associated wires back into the wall cavity. It’s simple to add to my Apple HomeKit home and automations. The cover plate, however, is basically impossible to take out once it’s put on. It basically feels like it will break if you keep pulling on it. Also the switch itself does not really have any indication if its been turned on or off, and I have to look at the light fixture to see what is going on. I like the Lutron implementation much better, but the Lutrons have a huge box behind the switch, making it very hard to cram everything back into the wall cavity after connecting all the wires. And the versions I have require a hub – not sure if they have eliminated that need with current versions. The Kasa switch does not require a hub – very easy to install.

I had trouble getting them to connect to WIFI.It’s probably me .., but other products are easier. I ended up buying all HUE products. Simpler.
